About GettOutUK

GettOutUK is a charity organisation offering holistic support to those on their journeys towards a Gett (Jewish Religious Divorce). We offer emotional support as well as legal referrals to those who need it. We operate within the parameters of Jewish law and work alongside local Religious Courts (Batei Din) as well as a team of top lawyers who offer legal counsel if a legal route is necessary.

GettOutUK firmly believes that prolonged refusal to grant a Gett is a form of domestic abuse which should not be tolerated by the community or its leaders. GettOutUK condemns the withholding of a Gett as a bargaining chip or a weapon.

Who is GettOutUK?

Rifka Simon (formerly Meyer)

Rifka, a mum of 5 & a wig salon owner from NW London, waited nine and a half years for her Gett. After seeing an Instagram post about keeping things real, Rifka decided to be vocal on Social Media about being an Agunah. Back in 2020, the situation of Agunot was not a topic that was much discussed. The response was massive and Rifka could see a need to raise awareness and fill a huge gap in the system. After doing an Instagram ‘live’ that was shared over 10k times, Rifka was approached by a client that suggested both she and Rifka do something about the situation. Ramie Smith, together with Rifka founded GettOutUK. Rifka received her long awaited Gett in 2020 having just launched GettOutUK.
